But people call me By! I am a Guatemalan theatermaker based in New Jersey. I graduated from Wesleyan University with a major in Theater. My focus is in costume and scenic design. Camp, maximalism, and queerness influence the way I approach design for the stage.

My recent costume design installation titled “revise/revisar” at Wesleyan University intertwined Latinidad, camp, and the avant-garde. I am deeply interested and passionate about highlighting queer, immigrant, and BIPOC voices in theatre.
